Laboratory of optical networks
Thanks to EU funds, we have been able to develop the Salumanus fibre-optic lab, which was founded in 2008 and now houses our R&D projects in the field of innovative network solutions.
We never stop looking for ways tospeed up data transmission. We strive to enhance our network systems to makesure they guarantee stability and good performance, but also bring a high ROI for our partners. Our networks are stable and environmentally friendly.
The fibre-optic network at our lab has a total length of nearly 1000 km!
But cutting-edge equipment is not all. We also make sure that our engineers are experienced and have the imagination required to design new network solutions.

Sub-measure 1.2.1 Research and development projects of enterprises
Salumanus Sp. z o.o. is implementing a project entitled "Development of optical modules with high throughput (100Gbps - 400Gbps)together with a programmer, intended for telecommunication operators and data centres and for the development of own products and solutions" co-financed from European Funds under the Malopolska Regional Operational Programme for 2014-2020, Measure 1.2 Research and innovation in enterprises, Sub-measure 1.2.1 Research and development projects of enterprises.
The aim of the project is to increase innovation in the regional economy through the development of innovative optical modules with high throughput (100 - 400 Gbps) together with a dedicated programmer. Thanks to the implementation of new Salumanus solutions, it will be possible to build/rebuild systems which are beginning to be inefficient in the current conditions, which will contribute to the development of entrepreneurship and the degree of satisfaction of end users with the received services.
As a result of the project, the following benefits for the Salumanus Company will be possible:
- diversification of the product offer and expansion of the current market
- increase sales potential
- the possibility of international expansion, especially in the area of western EU markets
- creation of an image of an innovative entity, creating new solutions responding to market needs
- increase in the Company's revenue from the sale of new products

- The project "Expansion of the optical networks laboratory for the development of innovative products of Salumanus" was co-financed from European Funds under the Regional Operational Programme of the Malopolska Region for 2014-2020, Measure 1.2 Research and innovation in enterprises, Sub-measure 1.2.2 Research and development infrastructure of enterprises.
The subject of the project was further development of the existing optical network laboratory in the structures of the Salumanus Company, necessary for the implementation of research and development works aimed at designing, developing and testing a number of prototype architectures of GPON networks, adapted to the demand and requirements of basic customer groups (ISP).
As a result of the project implementation, it is possible to achieve the following benefits for Salumanus:

- strengthening cooperation with the scientific and research sector
- creating an image of an innovative entity, creating new solutions responding to the market needs

Goal: creation within Salumanus structures of appropriate technical conditions necessary for the performance of R&D works leading to the design and implementation of a number of innovative products (architectural solutions for optical networks in xWDM technology enabling effective bandwidth usage and reduction of energy consumption).
